Angella Mackey is a clothing designer specialising in electronic garments and other types of functional apparel. She employs fashion-design methodologies that emphasise the social needs of the wearer while preserving the integrity of the garment.
Mackey has worked with partners ranging from research to commercial, including XSLabs (Concordia University), the Textile Museum of Canada, The Australian Network for Art and Technology, Smart Textiles (Sweden), Spaceport Sweden, and the Social Body Lab (OCAD University).
In 2011 she launched Vega Wearable Light, a series of fashionable illuminated coats and accessories for cycling.
