A conceptual approach in a handicraft context has always been central to the work Ellen has undertaken throughout her Bachelor in Fine Arts.

She is interested in how we perceive and ascribe values to objects and subjects, how different variables such as time, materials and workmanship affect and are co-creators in the valuation of the object/subject.

The aim with an education in textile design is to develop her artistry and materials based practice from a feminist perspective, previously having studied gender studies.
