Research seminar: Sustainability
2015-04-20, 14:30 — 16:00
Most universities today pursue multiple projects for increased sustainability. Nonetheless, initiatives regarding education, research, campus and outreach services to the surrounding community are seldom targeted for overreaching coordination, or connected to each other. In recent years, many universities around the world pursue the idea of the sustainable university to create a more coherent strategic profile congruent with the individual mission statement.
In this seminar, Jan Nolin presents the report The University of Borås as a Sustainable University, authored together with Vice-Chancellor Björn Brorström, thereby suggesting a number of ideas, concepts and strategies that may be useful in strengthening work on sustainable development. In particular, the idea of sustainability issues will be highlighted. Examples will be given on how this concept can be used to further the work within research groups on sustainable development at the Swedish School of Library Information Science.
The seminar will be held in English.
