New machines for borrowing and returning books
The new machines are based on RFID technology and will make loan processing easier for both borrowers and staff. You can borrow several books in the same operation and returning book takes place outside the library entrance around the clock.
Welcome to test the new machines. Staff are on hand to demonstrate and answer questions about how they work.
On the entrance floor are two loan machines located. To borrow books, use your chip with your PIN. The machines allow you to borrow your books, but also to see a list of what you have borrowed. You can choose if you want a paper receipt or a receipt sent to your email address.
The machine for returning books is located to the right of the library entrance. This means that you can now return books when the library is closed. Here you will leave both the books you borrowed from the library's collection as well as your inter-library loans. Remember to bring a receipt of your returned books.
The new login to "My loans" has become operational after the changes that the new machines required. On "My loans" you can see what books you borrowed and the return date for them. It is also via your login that you can reserve books already charged by other users.
Students and Staff at HB
Students and staff at the college log in with their usual credentials of HB - i.e. username and password. You can also log in using your social security number and PIN.
External students and the public
External students and the public log in with social security number and PIN.
That said, welcome to try the new machines. Do not hesitate to contact the library staff if you have any questions or problems.
