Coded tests for all from the 1st of September

Previously more than half of the university study programmes used coded tests. Now it will be the same for everyone in order to ensure a legally secure form of examination. From the 1st of September 2015, all written examinations will be marked anonymously.

Previously the students wrote their name and personal code number on the written examination, but from now on they will receive a unique barcode to attach on the examination cover page instead. The barcode will be handed out by the examination guard at each written examination.

– After the reorganization at the University of Borås, we found it a good time to introduce the same marking system for the entire university, says Agneta Karlsson, head of the Student Reception.

This issue has been pushed by the Student Union in Boras.
– There are two reasons for this. One is to ensure a legally secure form of examination. The second is that there must be fair conditions for all students, regardless on which study programme they are enrolled, says Daniel Palmberg, responsible for educational issues at the Student Union in study year 2014/2015.
The anonymous marking only concerns written examinations, not the take-home exams or other graded assignments.
