Aida Hosseinian from Iran is this year’s Global Swede from the University of Borås. The award was received at a ceremony in Stockholm on the 10th of May.

The ceremony took place at the Foreign Ministry in Stockholm, with a total of 22 international students from different universities receiving the diploma. Global Swede is a network of international students in Sweden, with the goal to encourage long-term multi-cultural relationships. The ceremony was arranged by the Foreign Ministry together with the Swedish Institute. The award was handed out by Ann Linde, the Minister for European Union Affairs and Trade.

– I am very honoured to receive this award and I am very proud of myself, says Aida Hosseinian. All the hard work has finally paid off. But this is not the end of the road, rather the start of it. This motivates me to keep on working just as hard as before.

In the nomination Aida’s excellent study result and dedication, as well as her contribution to an encouraging and creative study atmosphere, was praised.

Aida is currently completing her Master’s studies in Resource Recovery with a specialisation in Energy Technology. Her goal is to continue researching and eventually get a PhD degree.
