Applications for Academic Promotion including Docentship

 

Promotion

As a teacher at the University of Borås, you can apply to be promoted to a higher academic standing as Senior lecturer, Assistant Professor or (Full) Professor depending on your current position. To apply you are asked to download the application documents via the promotion- form. Click on the link below entitled “Apply for promotion” to reach the application page.

The following documents should be attached to the application should contain the following:

  • A flyleaf stating the position and academic subject aimed for. If you wish to be promoted within an adjacent academic area this should be highlighted and clarified.
  • A Curriculum Vitae and list of publications. A portfolio of qualifications can also be useful.
  • A photo-copy of a document to certify your Doctorate.
  • A document to certify your having completed a course in university pedagogy.
  • A maximum of seven publications

Apply for Promotion

Docentship

To apply you are asked to download the application documents via the promotion- form. Click on the link below entitled “Apply for promotion” to reach the application page.

The following documents should be attached to your application:

  • Cover letter with following content: Application to be appointed as a docent in (subject) at the University of Borås", is addressed to the Academic Appointment Committee.
  • CV with a list of qualifications (including a specification of pedagogical qualifications and research work and a separate, brief presentation of the applicant's research contributions and teaching experience (a total of 5-6 pages). The list of qualifications may also include other points the applicant wishes to make.
  • Statement by a Professor at the School, stating the potential benefits to the School and the University by appointing the applicant as unpaid docent and confirming that the applicant meets the qualification requirements for appointment as a docent, signed by the Head of School who, through his/her signature, supports the application.
  • A maximum of 10 publications.
