Publication types in BADA
All research publications in BADA are classified according to the typology is based on recommendations from The Association of Swedish Higher Education (SUHF). Below you find typology definitions.
Article – Peer reviewed scientific is used for articles which have undergone reviews by independent referees whose collected judgement decides if the publication fulfils the requirements regarding scientific quality to be accepted for publication.
Article – Other scientific is used when the content of an article is of a scientific nature and directed towards the academic society but has not undergone reviews by independent referees.
Article – Other is used when the content of an article is popular scientific and directed towards the general public or otherwise of a kind that cannot be classified as any of the other categories. Also polemical articles are included here.
Article – Reviews refers to book reviews in journals or news papers.
Book is used for monographic publication made up of one or many physical parts intended to form a completed whole. Also e-books are included here.
Book Chapter is used for an independent part of a monographic publication. Often included in collections made up of freestanding works which are published together, possibly edited towards a certain theme.
Book Chapter – Peer-reviewed Scientific is used for independent part of a monographic publication stating that the book chapter has undergone reviews by independent referees whose collected judgement decides if the publication fulfils the requirements regarding scientific quality to be accepted for publication.
Doctoral thesis Passed thesis for PhD exam (Swedish).
Licentiate thesis Passed thesis for licentiate exam (Swedish, a pre-doctoral degree).
Conference Paper – Peer reviewed Scientific refers to a paper which has undergone reviews by independent referees and is officially published in conference proceedings.
Conference Paper – Other refers to a paper which is published but has not undergone reviews.
Conference Poster refers to a Poster or other conference presentation.
Patent is used for patents.
Preprint Publication is not yet published in a journal.
Report is used for publications published in a series of reports.
Artistic research and development report is a report from an artistic research and/or development project. These reports may be published in other formats than text. In that case this is stated under the other in Media type.
Other is used for publications where no other type of publication is applicable.
