The project wants to explore the traditional, small-scale textile and craft opportunities for developing new product identities, new design and marketing of these.
Problem and the theoretical starting points
How can silence, action-cage professionals and research skills together to create, innovate and market products? There is a discussion on Textile School i Borås that there is a hidden resource in the tacit knowledge and the spontaneous creativity of craftsmen who rarely or never being reflected in new, economically viable products. We are convinced that these humanist / aesthetic values must have a scientific review and documentation. We want to achieve that with a co-production between the humanistic / aesthetic researchers and entrepreneurs with a still living craft practice based on a personalized, action-borne knowledge.
