The University of Borås is organised within four faculties as well as one unit for the administrative support. The head of the university is Vice-Chancellor Mats Tinnsten.

Research activity at the university is conducted in six major fields. More information about our research can be found here. What's unique about research at the University of Borås is that it is conducted in cooperation with the business world, the cultural sphere and the public sector. Today, there are 48 professors and 65 doctoral students at the university. 

The University of Borås is entitled to award doctoral degrees within five areas; Library and Information Science, Resource Recovery, Textiles and Fashion (design as well as general) and The Human Perspective in Care.
