As of 1 July 2014 the University of Borås has a new structure and is organised within three faculties as well as one unit for the administrative support. The head of the university is Vice-Chancellor Björn Brorström.
Research activity at the university is conducted in six major fields. More information about our research can be found here. What's unique about research at the University of Borås is that it is conducted in cooperation with the business world, the cultural sphere and the public sector. Today, there are around 53 professors and 60 doctoral students at the university.
The University of Borås is entitled to award doctoral degrees within four areas; Library and Information Science, Resource Recovery, Textiles and Fashion (design as well as general) and The Human Perspective in Care.
