ICT

The Department of Educational Research and Development (PUF) offers several courses at the intersection of ICT and pedagogy. The courses is intended to provide teachers in higher education with modern tools to improve the quality and efficiency of their teaching.

PING PONG

This course is intended for beginners or those who want to brush up your skills regarding the learning platform PING PONG. The aim of the course is that you should get a solid foundation enabling efficient use of PING PONG. Each course comprises two half days.

Digital Resources in Education

Digital learning resources are materials or software used in teaching and learning. It can be anything from small media files to complete course materials and teaching aids.

We provide support and advice for teachers, with the aim of develop the use of digital learning resources at the University of Borås. An introduction can be arranged for individual teachers or for groups in order to adapt the support to your needs.

PUF offer educational consultations and introductions to the use of digital learning resources. We can also assist you in the search, evaluation, creation and sharing of digital resources. Please schedule an appointment to learn more or discuss different ideas.

Tablet (iPad) as Pedagogical and Teaching Tool

PUF offers workshops to university staff on the pedagogical use of tablets.

Session 1
The tablet as an tool for teaching and learning and its basic functions and applications are discussed.

Session 2
Apps, mail, file access, iCloud, AppleTV, updates and accessories are discussed.

Interactive whiteboard (SmartBoard)

We offer workshops to university staff on the pedagogical use of interactive whiteboards (Smartboards).

A Smartboard is an interactive whiteboard or screen connected to a computer. Interacting with the whiteboard is different than using a traditional computer mouse. You interact directly with the whiteboard using a finger or a special pen.

It is possible, after finishing the workshop, to borrow a mobile interactive whiteboard for continued exercise.

The Learning Platform Moodle

We offer workshops to university staff on the free open source platform Moodle.

Teachers at the University of Borås are often involved in international project; this means, among other things, that they have shared responsibility for teaching or supervision in common courses. Because it is free, Moodle is a popular choice of learning platform around the world.

The workshops are organized on request and are intended to provide teachers a useful introduction to Moodle, both in their own teaching and as a tool for cooperation with external actors.

Network for Flexible Learning

The Department of Educational Research and Development (PUF) offers a network for all employees at the University who are interested in or/and have experience of distance education and who seek to continue developing (new) forms for teaching and learning.

The network aims both at individual educational development and at developing common strategies within the work with distance education and flexible learning at the university. The network also provides an opportunity to share good examples and practices with colleagues from different disciplines.
