The Library is responsible for Borås Academic Digital Archive, BADA. It is the university's system for digital publishing.
BADA is used to digitally publish research publications, student thesis and other content. In 2007 it was decided by the Vice-Chancellor that BADA should be used to register all research publications from University of Borås. In 2013 the Vice-Chancellor revised the resolution.
Doctoral thesis, articles, books, book chapters conference papers etc. are registered in BADA. Although it might not always be possible to fulltext publish research publications due to copyright issues with the publishers, metadata of the publication must always be registered.
The visibility and accessibility of research publications increases when they are made openly and freely available online. BADA uses a metadata protocol which makes it possible for other systems to gather metadata from us and make it available through search engines such as Google and Google Scholar. We deliver metadata to Swepub which is a search engine for all academic publications published at Swedish universities.
