Vice- Chancellor's resolution on publishing
April 7th 2015 the Vice-Chancellor decided for new guidelines for publishing at University of Borås. This resolution replaces Publishing policy from February 2 2013.
The resolution states that since publishing articles, books, conference papers and even artistic research is the basis for allocation a part of research funds the quality of research publications from University of Borås should be as high qualitative as possible and get the widest dissemination as possible.
According the Högskolelagen (SFS 1002:1434, § 6) research results are to be published freely. This is interpreted in a way that makes it free for our researchers and students to decide how they would like to publish their research results. However, University of Borås recommends, with regards to the Berlin declaration, SUHF’s recommendations and guidelines from Swedish Research Council that researchers should choose channels that are Open Access or at least allow self-archiving.
One such channel is DiVA. Registrations in DiVA also used in part as a basis for internal and external resource allocation.
University of Borås publishes a number of scientific series which should follow the recommendation of Open Access and self-archiving.
