Master's programme in Informatics (one or two years)
Do you want to be a new-era system developer? You will acquire enhanced skills and knowledge not only in IT and systems influenced by the Scandinavian school of management and systems development, but also competence of applying the knowledge to meet the needs of the business in practical, effective and efficient ways.
New emerging IT -related roles are business analysts, change leaders, process analyst/designers and information managers. These include a strategic level of IT skills which were lacking in the IT crisis in the beginning of the new century. These Master’s programmes fills that gap.
After completing the education you have acquired deeper knowledge and skills in informatics, and have increased your ability to systematically and well-founded handle complex problems associated with the development and use of IT in organizations, in order to design effective solutions. In order to create such solutions, it requires a good knowledge of the interplay between context and system. The role as a system developer therefore requires knowledge from many different areas. The goal of the programme is that the students will gain a thorough knowledge of business, IT and system design along with a deeper knowledge of systems development.
A central concept for the programmes is the concept of Co-Design, which focus on the process where different perspectives and competences are woven together to new products, organisations and enterprises. Co-Design involves human collaborative work in creating information systems and businesses. This means to acknowledge that different groups of actors are involved in design processes, i.e. enterprises and IT systems need to be co-created. In order to respond to the need for the international exchange IT industry has moved into, but also for responding to the needs of the expanded skills needed for the new IT occupations that are emerging, this master education gives you the excellence that will give you a head start on the labor market. The content is based on the school’s research profile of Co-Design and builds on the school’s undergraduate programs.
