The Web of the future: Toward heterogeneous systems – high performance needs and solutions
We live in an era of heterogeneous systems where our computing devices range from low-power processors in mobile phones to massively parallel processing units used in scientific computing and machine learning. More recently, the latter type has also become available to literally everyone with the advent of cloud computing. All of these devices connect through a variety of different kinds of networks. Embracing this heterogeneity is the next natural step in computing.
Content-aware networking will enable more efficient and seamless delivery of content to the end-users, and democratic access to large computing resources will make high-performance computing ubiquitous.
The seminar focuses on digital preservation as an important application area, bringing examples from the SHAMAN EU FP7 Large-Scale Integrating Project.
Welcome to a Discussion Workshop at the University of Borås.
