Before an examination

As a student, you are personally responsible for ensuring that you are registered for the course for which you are to complete examinations. Check "Mitt konto" (My Account ) to see whether you are registered. If you are not registered, send an e-mail to ths@hb.se containing the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your personal ID number
  • Your telephone number
  • The name of the programme you are reading
  • The name of the course for which you are to register
  • Date of relevant examination

This is applicable in particular if you are to complete retakes on a course which you have studied previously, i.e. not over the current term. NOTE: Even if you have completed registration, you still have to register as per the instruction below.

Examinations at other departments

Some courses are held at other departments, e.g. the School of business and IT for Textile Economists and the School of engineering for Textile Engineers. In the case of such examinations, the rules valid at the department in question are applicable. Take care to read the rules and information about examinations issued by the department in question.

Examination dates and assessment dates

One regular examination date and three retake dates are normally planned when a course is scheduled. Examination periods at the Swedish School of Textiles take place over the final week of the relevant study period and the week before the start of the autumn term.

Search the schedule programme on the website to find the relevant exams. Use the search criteria:

  • Course
  • Programme
  • Signature: TEN

The week before the autumn term starts is the assessment date for the past year's exams. The procedures which describe registration and notification also apply to assessment exams.

Anonymous exams

All the exams are always anonymous at the Swedish School of Textiles.

Before registering for examinations

Once you have been registered on the right course and your examination date is approaching, you have to register for the right examination date. This is done at the website. You can register at the earliest four weeks before your examination and at the latest seven working days before your examination date.

If you have not registered for your examination you will only be able to sit your exam if there is space! To do this, there have to be students who have registered for the relevant examination by the end of the registration period. After 30 minutes, any free space in the examination room can be offered to anyone who has failed to register within the prescribed time. However, you will lose the corresponding amount of writing time.

Examinees needing special arrangements during an examination session due to disabilities must report this at least four weeks before their examination to studentcentrum@hb.se. Questions can also be answered by the School's coordinator for support for disabled students.

Unregistered students

After 30 minutes of examination time has passed, any free space in the examination room can be offered to any student who has failed to register within the prescribed time. Unregistered students

are offered space after registered students arriving late have been offered space. However, students then lose the corresponding amount of writing time.

Examinations in other locations

The main rule is that written examinations will take place in Borås or in another location defined by the examiner. However, if special reasons for doing so are considered to exist, students may be given permission to complete their examinations elsewhere, on their own initiative. Find out about the procedures for this here.

Examinations on a different day of the week

If any students are unable to do their exams on a certain day of the week for religious reasons, it is necessary to contact studentcentrum@hb.se for further action at the latest four weeks before the examination.

Examination room

The examination room will be announced via the schedule programme as soon as possible, but the day before at the latest.
