Identifications
During the examination session, students must present valid identification (ID card, driving licence, EU passport with a photo that is a good likeness). Any examinee failing to present approved identification will be refused entry to the examination room.
Examination times
Students must be on the premises at the latest 15 minutes before the start of the examination, when the examination room will be closed. Start and end times for examinations must be observed precisely. All forms and answers must be completed at the end of the examination time.
Location
The examination manager tells students where they are to be sitting during examinations. Examinations always start with information on the rules applicable to examinations.
Personal effects
Personal effects which are not unconditionally required for examinations must be placed in a location specified by the examination manager. Mobile phones are never allowed at desks.
Aids
Aids which are permitted must be specified clearly for examinations. Notepaper and writing paper will be provided by the invigilator.
Late arrival
Examinees arriving at the examination room more than 30 minutes after the start of the examination will not be entitled to do their examinations. This applied to both registered and unregistered students. Once 30 minutes of the examination time have passed, the examination room will be opened again and any students arriving later than the time specified under the Examination times heading may then be offered the opportunity to sit their exams. However, students then lose the corresponding amount of writing time.
Consequences of cheating
The School considers cheating to be a very serious matter. Any suspicion of cheating will be reported to the Vice-Chancellor for further investigation. Warnings or exclusion are disciplinary actions which can be applied in the event of misdemeanours during examinations.
Toilet visits and breaks
Names and times (in and out) for toilet visits and other breaks granted must be noted in a special list. Breaks for smoking/rest/fresh air are not normally permitted.
Submission of papers
Examinees may leave the premises only once at least 40 minutes of writing time have passed. Examinees who have finished writing must not remain in the vicinity of the examination room.
Examinees need not submit papers if they do not wish to do so. Unless specified otherwise, examinees may take their papers out of the examination room with them when they have finished.
