Public defence of the doctoral thesis
Ladok is the administrative system that the University of Borås uses to register information about all students, including doctoral students. All achievements are registered in Ladok. The students´ activity in the programme is reported twice a year, at the end of each semester.
What is registered in Ladok?
Identity information, information on entry requirements, admission, learning outcomes and degrees for all students .
For doctoral students, additional information such as subject and scientific area, registration and activity by semester, supervisor and type of financing of the student is also included. The students activity is reported after each semester in the report sheet that is sent to the students record office (Ladok administration).
At the University of Borås
For doctoral students at the University of Borås, results in approved PhD courses must be registered in Ladok by the department that has arranged and examined the course. Succeeded courses is signed and reported by the course examiner using the course report form. Credit transfer of courses must also be registered in Ladok using the application of credit transfer.
After the programme of courses is completed and approved, the passed course component ”Finished courses" can be issued. This document is issued by the Ladok administrator and is the first part of the path to the PhD exam, and a prerequisite when applying for the doctoral exam.
After the approved dissertation is registered in Ladok, and courses are completed, a formal application for the doctoral degree can be done. When the degree is issued, it is also registered.
The information in Ladok is the basis for the Diploma supplement which is appended to the degree certificate.
