Research at the School of Education and Behavioural Sciences

The School of Education and Behavioural Sciences conducts research in pedagogical work within the framework of the research programme, “Researching social, political and economical conditions for democracy and participation in learning processes in preschool, school and society”. This research comprises analyses on societal, organisational and individual levels. Characteristic for the research projects is their close connection to the professions that concern first level education at the School of Education and Behavioural Sciences: Teachers in preschool and school, and organisational and HR developers.

Research at the School of Education and Behavioural Sciences demonstrates a variety of research environments as well as perspectives, approaches and disciplines, e.g. pedagogy, sociology, psychology and work life science. Research is conducted in cooperation between internal and external researchers nationally as well as internationally. Research at the School of Education and Behavioural Sciences takes place in practice-close connection where science, work life and education are of central importance.

PhD students are primarily enlisted at University of Gothenburg, Umeå University and Stockholm University. They write their theses in different disciplines and subjects, such as pedagogy, pedagogical work, sociology, didactics, work life science and psychology.
