Research
The School of Engineering focuses currently on the following research areas:
- Resource Recovery
- Textile applications of Biomedical Engineering
- Fashion Logistics and Demand Chain Management
Most research financed by internal or external grants is conducted in the groups mentioned above. There are also some activities in the fields of mathematics and theoretical physics.
In June 2010, the School of Engineering was granted the right to provide postgraduate education within Resource Recovery.
Networking and projects
The School has a well-developed network for exchange and collaboration in prioritized research fields - within Sweden and abroad. Contacts are made at the department level and through direct collaborations between individual scientists.
Nationally the School is working closely with SP, the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute, Chalmers University of Technology and Göteborg University. An important collaborative project is Waste Refinery, with its principal center at the SP.
The School also participates in the national research education in material science located at Chalmer´s.
There are many international contacts, for example a SIDA-financed project on phase equilibria with the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa, and a project on simulation methods with the National Technical University of Athens.
