Author instructions

Swedish Library Research welcomes contributions in the form of articles, historical articles, essays, reviews, reports from conferences/workshops, presentations of ongoing projects as well as reflections on practice, and articles on education and training.

MANUSCRIPT

Manuscripts should be sent to the editors as attachments to e-mails, preferably as RTF-files or Word version 6.0 or later and formatted as little as possible. Send your manuscript in two versions, one that is adapted to an anonymous peer review (i.e. without direct references that identify the author) and the original version. Your original version should be formatted with singe line spacing in Times New Roman or another established font. All authors should be shown and author's details must be included in the original version of the manuscript with the contact author's address, telephone number and e-mail address.

SECTIONS

Swedish Library Research has two sections, one is peer- reviewed and the other is an open section.

Peer-reviewed section: research articles are reviewed in a double-blind system, i.e. both reviewers and authors are anonymous to each other. We hope in this way to ensure as far as possible that articles are evaluated on the basis of their inherent merits. Authors are therefore encouraged to clearly indicate if manuscripts are intended for the peer-review section. It is expected that reviewed articles will be revised where necessary. Unrevised articles will not be published in the open section. The decision to publish in the peer review section will be taken by the editors.
Open section: Material for the open section will be appraised by the editors.

ADDRESS

Manuscripts should be sent to Swedish Library Research by e-mail to svensk.biblioteksforskning@hb.se.

ILLUSTRATIONS

In case of accidents or distortions we request that illustrations (including tables and diagrams) be sent separately with indications of whereabouts in the text they should be inserted. This is an extra precaution so please send your manuscript with all the illustrations in the right places as well.

ABSTRACT

An abstract (about 150 words) in English should be included in the manuscript. The abstract is an independent summary of the contents of the article and should not take the form of an introduction or background to the article.

KEYWORDS

Please submit 5 or 6 keywords that describe the contents of the article.

AUTHOR PRESENTATION

A short presentation (c. 50 ord) of the author/authors together with any organisation or research affiliations should be included with the manuscript.

REFERENCES

References to other publications should be shown within the text as the first author's name followed by a comma and year of publication, all in round brackets, e.g. (Svensson, 1999). At the end of the article a reference list in alphabetical order must be given as follows:

For books: surname, initials or full name, (year) title. Place of publication : publisher. for example, Berger, P. (1963) Invitation to sociology. Middlesex: Penguin.
For journals: surname, initials or full name, (year) title, journal, volume, number, pages, e.g. Chatman, E. (1996). The impoverished life-world of outsiders. Journal of the American Society for Information Science, 47, pp. 193-206.

Footnotes should be used only if absolutely necessary.
