Academic Vocational Training – AVT
A lot of the programs offered at the school are practical. That means that the students carry out studies at workplaces where they can work after graduation. This is a part of the university ambition to become a professional university where theory combines with practice in order to give an education that meets the requirements of the working life.
The people responsible for the Academic Vocational Training are in charge of ensuring that co-operation with local authorities and other employers works when it comes to student placement as well as of organizing the training. The main assignments are as follows (for the Teacher Training Program, and partly for the independent program):
- Comprehensive information about the Academic Vocational Training education
- Making an inventory of the region and other employers regarding AVT places.
- Initiate contacts
- Providing information for and co-operating with parties concerned/employers
- Placement of students in the region/employers
- Co-operation with faculty administrators/co-ordinators, e.g. organize conferences
- Organizing of conferences for regional co-ordinators in the field of education
- Evaluation and feedback in the Academic Vocational Training organization
