Numerical problems in electromagnetics

kkEng2This work has been carried out in close collaboration with the Nonlinear Electrodynamics Group at the Department of Radio and Space Science at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. The research issues are focusing on the development and use of mathematical methods to solve and analyse problems in theoretical physics in general and in nonlinear optics in particular.

The development of nonlinear optics is partially driven by the anticipation of large technological dividends in high-speed optical communication. However, for future uses, a sophisticated understanding will be required of different nonlinear phenomena, which tend to limit the achievable transmission rates.
