Interlibrary loans
Interlibrary loans
If you need a book that is not listed in the library catalogue, it can be borrowed from other libraries both within and outside Sweden via the interlibrary loan system.
Literature listed in our own catalogue or held by Borås City Library may not be borrowed via interlibrary loan. We do not borrow obligatory course literature from other libraries. Fiction may be borrowed if you can confirm that it is to be used for research.
If you wish to order literature via interlibrary loan you must have a library card and either be employed at the university or be a student. You can place your order at the library counter, by telephone or via the order form at the library web site. Please supply us with as much information about the book/article as you can, preferably a copy of a full reference.
Charges for copies of articles/document supply
Interlibrary loans of books are free of charge. Articles and other documents, however cost ordinarily 40 SEK or 80 SEK for delivery the same day. Copies that are delivered instead of an interlibrary loan also cost 40 or 80 SEK respectively.
Delivery times
Delivery times for interlibrary loans, whether they are from within or without Sweden, vary. In other words, think ahead if you want to borrow from other libraries. Interlibrary loans are fetched from and returned to the Information Point at the library.
