The concept of profession

‘Science for Profession’ is partly the device of the University College of Borås. It emphasizes the importance of closeness between academic and practical work. It expresses the uniqueness of the profile of the university college which is founded in the conviction that it is important to manage research and education in teamwork with trade and industry and government services. This business idea is the basis of the effort of the university college towards becoming the first university college of profession in the country with the basic goal to bring together and further develop the scientific knowledge, characteristic of the higher education and the knowledge of working life.
