Research Networks

Collaboration takes place with individual companies as well as groups of companies and local governments. Since many years collaboration with Swedish Distance Sellers is established, which is based on a mutual interest for education in Direct Marketing, and participation in a project on information technology- and business development financed by the Knowledge Foundation. The collaboration has hereafter developed towards more business specific projects within Trading and Logistics, and Direct Marketing and E-Commerce. Collaboration also takes place with Gällstadbygdens Företagarförening, an association for the companies in the Gällstad region, in order to develop the customer services and the commercial tourism for the company cluster in that region.

The informaticians participation in the research network VITS includes the University of Borås, Dalarna University, Karlstad University, Örebro University and is lead by Linköping University. The collaboration is of great importance for lecturers and doctoral students’ research education and also the possibilities for becoming associate professor.

There is also long research collaboration with Microsoft, WM-data and Ladok. The two largest projects in this collaboration are e-Me with about 20 national partners and SSN with around 20 international partners.

Within the framework of the so called Bjerstorp's cooperation three postgraduate students in informatics work with data mining in the Information Fusion research profile at the University College of Skövde. The University of Borås also participates in the Innovation Center, Espira, which is sponsored by the Sjuhärad Association of Local Authorities among others. In connection to this the Center of Entrepreneurship and Business design (CEA) works with both education and research at the University of Borås.
