Research Groups

The School of Business and IT (SBI) is represented in several research teams by its senior researchers and its postgraduate researchers. Some teams are internal within the SBI, others are a collaboration between researchers at other Schools at the University of Borås (UCB) as well as other universities and other external stakeholders.

During the last few years senior researchers and the postgraduate researchers jointly formed around larger research applications and projects, and the interdisciplinary interaction between the disciplinary areas have increased. Within Business Administration the Encounters & Markets Research Group (EM) has been formed, which gather members from the marketing field as well as the fields of accounting and informatics. There are also research teams in management, marketing and accounting. Within Informatics the research teams on Practice Driven System Development (VSU) and Artificial Intelligence and Mining (AIM) are constantly growing stronger. SBI is very active in searching for possible inter school collaboration between the different schools at the university in fields of interest in order to enable stronger research teams. The Centre for Collaborative Innovation (CCI) and the system development centre InnovationLab have become the most established so far. CCI has members from several schools at the university and also external researchers are associated. The researchers at SBI and associates at other Schools at UCB and universities have the possibility to use InnovationLab for realisation of their results.
