Admission Process

- A guide to applying to the University of Borås

1. Apply online at www.universityadmissions.se 

The website www.universityadmissions.se is the official website for applying to higher education in Sweden. It is managed by the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education in cooperation with the National Admissions Office. The latter is responsible for coordinating the admission process for most Swedish universities.

Please note that if you are not an EU/EEA citizen  you have to pay an application fee of SEK 900 before your application becomes valid. However there are some exceptions to this rule. To find out if you are required to pay the application fee, please visit www.universityadmissions.se

2. Send supporting documents

Once you have completed your online application you should send supporting documents such as copies of high school/university diplomas, transcripts  and English language certificates to:

Make sure that all documents have been properly stamped and signed by the appropriate authorities. Unofficial photocopies, faxed or scanned documents will not be considered. No documents should be sent directly to the University of Borås. Do not send any original documents, but do bring them with you to Sweden. All original documents must be presented on request to the Admission Office or the Office of Degrees at the University of Borås.

3. First assessment of your application

Once the National Admissions Office has received your supporting documents they scan all the documents and pass them on to a central unit which makes a first assessment of your application and make sure that it meets the general entry requirements. 

4. Experienced staff assess your application and ensure that your application meet the specific entry requirements

If your application meets the general entry requirements it is sent to the local Admissions Office at the University of Borås where experienced staff assess your application and ensure that your application meet the specific entry requirements.

5. The selection process

When the local Admissions Office has assessed all the applications the selection begins. 

6. Admitted students receives an offer

Students who have been admitted to the University of Borås will receive an offer.

Please note that if you are offered a place at the University of Borås, you will receive an official e-mail from the National Admissions Office informing you that the selection process is complete.

7. Accept offer 

If you choose to accept the offer, you must reply to your offer and confirm your acceptance on www.universityadmissions.se 

Please note that if you are required to pay tuition fees, you must pay the fee for the first semester before you are allowed to register at the University of Borås.
