Scientific Seminars Autumn 2010

A Swedish research and education topic successfully established at University of Borås, examination rights at master level in pedagogical work have been obtained. As third cycle rights are in progress, a new seminar series on research and development in pedagogical issues is introduced: The Scientific Seminar Series on Teacher Training and Pedagogical Work.  All seminars concerns research on and in relation to ICT, learning and sustainable development.

The free seminars are open to the public. 

1. Specialisation in Teacher Training and Work

Issues on teacher training, work and working conditions in schools and preschools are hosted by Professor Dennis Beach, March 3rd and May 12th, 1-3 PM. Room: A 502

2. Specialisation in Didactics in Different School Subjects, Preschools and After School Recreation Centres

Didactics in Swedish and Mathematics on all educational levels are discussed on the basis of scientific articles, research methodology and current debate, hosted by Professor Lisbeth Åberg-Bengtsson and Professor Gun Malmgren, February 17th 1-3 PM and April 21th 2.45-5 PM. Room: A 502

3. Specialisation in Inclusion and Exclusion in Pedagogical Activities

Schools’ and preschools’ democratic assignment in terms of education and care with inclusion as its aims and means or processes with excluding consequences also concerns special needs education, hosted by Professor Bengt Persson and Professor Julie Allan, March 17th and May 26th, 1-3 PM. Room: A 502

4. Specialisation in Preschool and After School Recreation Centres

Presentations and discussions of the School’s research take place with invited specialists in the field, hosted by Professor Marita Lindahl, March 3rd, and May 19th, 1-3 PM. Room: A 502
