A center of excellence for research and development in the welfare sector

FOU Sjuhärad Välfärd (FoUS) is the successor of ÄldreVäst Sjuhärad which was started in 1999 as a research and development unit focusing on care for the elderly. In January 2009 the unit changed its name to FOU Sjuhärad Välfärd and the research and development unit now includes research and competence building around:

• the elderly
• the functionally impaired
• children and young persons
• families in vulnerable situations
• persons with addiction problems
• socio-economically vulnerable groups
