I have worked at the SSLIS as a teacher and researcher since 1999. In 2008, I defended my Ph.D. disssertation The (re)creation of scholarly journals: Document and information architecture in Open Access e-journals. I currently work within the research project Expertise, authority and control on the Internet (EXACT) funded by the Swedish Research Council. Both projects concern in diverse ways how credibility is constructed on the Internet. I am also interested in the materiality of documents and how people attribute degrees of credibility to documents. In the academic year 2010-2011 I have a post doc position at the University of Borås.

Between 1999 and 2007, I was one of the editors of Human IT: Journal for Information Technology Studies as a Human Science.

Assignments

I am co-director of the board of The Linnaeus Centre for Research on Learning, Interaction and Mediated Communication in Contemporary Society (LinCS) at the University of Gothenburg and the University of Borås since spring 2010. Between 2008-2010 I co-ordinated the Master's programme Digital services - culture, information & communication. I have also been a member of the department's Postgraduate Education Committee, most recently 2009-2011.

Teaching and courses

My teaching is mainly in the Master's programme Digital services - culture, information & communication but also in other courses at Bachelor's and Master's level. My areas of teaching are primarily in digital media and digital libraries, scholarly publishing, web publishing, and the credibility and authority of sources. I also supervise Master's and PhD students.

Title of Dissertation

EXpertise, Authority and Control on the InterneT (EXACT): a study of the formation of source credibility in Web 2.0 environments for learning The EXACT project addresses how people come to grips with the transference of formal expertise and control of information from institutions, such as publishers, schools, and libraries, to the users in Web 2.0 resources, and how users justify and uphold trust in the resources’ authority.
Learning, Interaction and Mediated Communication in Contemporary Society (LinCS) LinCS is a national centre of excellence funded by the Swedish Research Council (2006-cont.) and with additional funding from several agencies. LinCS is a collaboration between several research groups at the University of Gothenburg and the University of Borås.
