Title: Sharing research resources across distances in library and information science: a socio-technical design of a collaboratory
The aim of my doctoral research project is to explore socio-technical factors that impact the design, adoption and use of a collaboratory (a socio-technical platform) for sharing data collection instruments within library and information science.
This research investigates:
- How students, researchers and practitioners evaluate and choose data collection instruments,
- Motivations for individuals and organizations to share data collection instruments with others who they may or may not know, and
- How a controlled vocabulary can effectively support submission, retrieval and evaluation of data collection instruments.
