Description
A close collaboration between different disciplines here at the University of Borås is a unique opportunity to conduct interdisciplinary research. The research team in biotechnology have taken advantage of this opportunity in the form of several research and development projects. The group's ambition is to use biotechnology as a tool for solving environmental problems and develop sustainable processes in the field of energy and materials.
Research projects
Bioconversion of fruit wastes into biogas
A project in collaboration with Indonesia.
Biogas from cellulosic biomass
The overall aim of the project is to assess the potential of biogas production from straw, wood chips and paper.
Developing rapid digestion bioreators for biogas production
In this project we are going to develop a digester for more rapid digest of biological wastes. Our goal is to decrease the total time of digestion.
Waste Recovery Asia
This project has as its purpose to transfer Borås-region's knowledge and technology in the field of resource recovery to Southeast Asia. Our working model is called Waste Recovery - International Partnership in Borås.
