Symposium: Haptic Communication
2019-08-22, 09:00 — 17:00
Vestindien C, Textile Fashion Centre, Borås
Information access and ease of communication are basic elements of daily living, often taken for granted, but not by people with deafblindness.
The research project SUITCEYES brings together cutting-edge research from multiple disciplines with the aim to improve the independence and participation of people with deafblindness by enhancing their communication, perception of the environment, knowledge acquisition and conduct of daily routines.
The symposium is primarily for researchers (disability studies, smart textiles, haptics, sensor technologies, linguistics, machine learning, user studies), decision makers (inclusion accessibility), and stake holders (people with deafblindnees, families, interpreters, interveners, national support organisations); but anyone with interest in issues of deafblindness would be welcome.
The symposium will be held in English.
Registration is mandatory.
