Librarian receives Pedagogical Award

This year’s Pedagogical Award was split between two of the university’s employees. One of the winners was Fernando Seoane Martínez, teacher and researcher at the School of Engineering; the other winner was Eli Bytoft Nyaas, librarian at Library & Learning Resources.

Eli Bytoft Nyaas rereceives the award.

Each year the University of Borås announces the University of Borås Pedagogical Award. Anyone who is a student or an employee at the university has the opportunity to nominate a person who has made significant contributions to the university’s education.

This year a librarian working at Library & Learning Resources (LLR) received the award. Eli Bytoft Nyaas has been a librarian for 39 years and has a lot of experience of the subject she’s teaching. One of her latest achievements is that she, in cooperation with, among others, Karin Süld (also a librarian at LLR) has developed the Borås Model which is a model for collaboration on students’ development of information literacy.

The development of this model, and the way she has spread the knowledge of the model to other universities is one of the reasons to why she receives the award.

Besides the great honor of receiving the price, Eli also receives a travel grant for 15 000 SEK.

This is not the first time a librarian at LLR receives the Pedagogical Award. Three years ago Linda Östlundh received the price for her teaching of information seeking at the School of Health Sciences.
