Erasmus study programme

As a student of the University of Borås you have the possibility to study 3 to 12 months at one of UB's European partner universities.

You must be enrolled at least in the second year of higher education studies and you must be registered at the University of Borås before going on Erasmus exchange.

The Erasmus grant level for the academic year 2018/19 is €360 - €420 per month, dependent upon your host country. As an Erasmus student you are exempted from paying tuition fees at the host institution.

A supplementary grant is available for students with special needs.

Erasmus+ exchanges are based around subject area agreements. Each faculty at UB has exchange agreements with different European universities. The faculties at UB select students for an Erasmus exchange. You need to discuss your course choices with your faculty to ensure that the courses you take abroad are approved for credit transfer. If you want to apply for exchange studies within Erasmus+ please contact your international coordinator at your faculty or submit the notification of interest for exchange studies within Europe.

When a student has been selected by their faculty to take part in an Erasmus+ exchange, they will automatically be contacted regarding the funding arrangements.

Programme countries

The member states of the European Union, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey can fully take part in the Erasmus+ mobility programme. Switzerland is not a programme country in Erasmus+.

The impact of Brexit on the UK's participation in the Erasmus+ programme is still unclear. Read more about Brexit on the Swedish Council for Higher Education's webpage.

Recognition and evaluation

As an Erasmus student, you are entitled to expect full recognition from your home university for satisfactorily completed activities/modules during the Erasmus mobility period, in accordance with the learning agreement. The recognition will be included in your degree certificate. As an Erasmus student you are liable to submit an evaluation report about your studies abroad.
