This one-year program targets motivated students with an undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, software engineering or a similar subject. The overall goal is for you to acquire deeper knowledge and more advanced skills in IT, specifically the ability to handle complex problems related to software development and IT-use, in a systematic and scientific way.

The program focuses on business intelligence and information systems, but the overall purpose is to increase your generic knowledge in the IT field. Together, the skills acquired will increase your attraction on the ever more specialized employment market in IT. Possible career choices include consultant, IT project manager or solution architect. A one-year master degree also contains, to some extent, an introduction to scientific research and will make the graduate eligible for PhD studies in Sweden.

During the one-year master program you will take at least 30 credits of advanced courses. Some examples of these courses are Business Intelligence and Business Process Modeling. The advanced courses are complemented by one or more basic level courses in IT. The final course in the program is a degree project for 15 credits. The project can focus on a scientifically interesting problem from the IT business or be connected to ongoing research at the School of Business and IT.
