EndNote is a reference management software, and it is used to manage bibliographies and references when writing essays and articles.

NOTE! At the moment, there is a problem for you who want to use EndNote as an application on Mac with the latest version of iOS (Sierra 10.12.5). The problem is that if you open pdf files through EndNote, the entire program is likely to lock. EndNote and Apple are working on a solution for this. / 2017-08-10

Endnote can adapt to your own work in different ways. The program is available as a web application that you always have with you, regardless of where you work, and on the computer at the moment. You can also download EndNote to your computer. Use your login provided by the University. EndNote is also available as an app for the iPad. With it you can search the Web of Knowledge, which is a database of bibliographic information and save them to your EndNote Web account. Also the app Refscan is based on EndNote Web of Knowledge.

UB has developed style sheets for EndNote according to our Guide to Harvard referencing. To download this to a computer outside of the University network: Make a right click and "Save as" locate the EndNote folder, and then save in the folder Styles. Restart EndNote for the style sheet to work.

How to download the style

  1. Install EndNote
  2. Right click on the style - choose: Save link as.../ Save target as... (Works best with Firefox or Chrome)
  3. Find the folder for  EndNote (PC under Program files) (MAC under Program)
  4. Choose the subfolder Styles
  5. Save
  6. Restart EndNote
  7. Find the new style sheet in EndNote (Select another style ...)
