The search for missing persons

The search for missing persons

Every year, about 22,000 people are reported missing to the Police Rescue Service. The largest groups are people with depression / mental illness and people with dementia.

The project studies the collaboration between the police, social services and NGOs before, during and after a disappearance from different perspectives. The purpose is to contribute to new knowledge about the collaboration between different actors such as healthcare, social services, the police rescue service, NGOs and others. The exploration process is studied from prevention to after-work to be able to identify, initiate and evaluate new forms, strategies and methodologies for co-production and management in the field.

The focus is on governance, (work) organization, management and co-production between central actors - including “the disappeared” and his relatives.
