I work as a post doctoral researcher within the field of Resource Recovery (polymer technology research group) where I focus on developing novel biocomposites from waste products. I have been working at the University of Borås since 2017 and prior to that, I have worked as a post doctoral researcher in the Fibre and particle engineering department at University of Oulu in Finland. My past research activities, were mainly focused on studying redispersion of dried nanofibrillated cellulose extracted from industrial residues, and developing cellulose nanofibre reinforced polymer matrix composites.
In Borås, I am working on the research project entitled: “Furan resin based lightweight high performance biocomposite materials”, funded by Olle engkvist byggmästare foundation. The objectives are to synthesize novel bioresins, extract nanocellulose from vegetable wastes, and combine those two components to develop novel high performance biocomposite materials.
My research interests include: i) developing novel materials with highly crosslinked structure, ii) synthesis of new bioresin, iii) application of in situ polymerization technique to develop high performance composites, and iv) investigation on nanocellulose based materials for biomedical applications. My teaching interests are primarily in polymer chemistry, characterization techniques of polymeric materials, and biobased composites.
