At present, Mats Tinnsten is Professor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor at Mid Sweden University (Mittuniversitetet in Swedish). If the government agrees with the university's proposal, he will be appointed as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Borås on 1 January 2019. According to the proposal, his mandate will be for six years.
