Offset deals: Publish OA without charge

The University of Borås has agreements with publishers that make it free for researchers at to publish Open Access in some journals.

The offset agreements in Sweden are negotiated through the National Library through something called the Bibsam consortium for the express purpose of advancing the Open Access development. The agreements the University of Borås has joined means that the publishers are paid a yearly fee to lower or remove the publication fees (article processing charges or Open Access fees) when researchers choose to publish Open Access in some or all of their journals. The Taylor & Francis agreement is new for 2018. Read on for more information about the various offset agreements.

No publication charges for corresponding authors at the University of Borås (or other institutions that are part of the agreement) when publishing Open Access in hybrid journals. The agreement covers around 1450 articles from all consortium members for the duration of 2018, so the free publications are available on a first come, first serve basis. The current agreement is valid through the end of 2020.
