The SSLIS Seminar | Madeleine Dutoit (MAU)

Researchers, data sharing, and data policies: a case study within Scholarly Communication.

Madeleine Dutoit holds a PhD from Oslo Metropolitan University. Her thesis is about researchers’ data sharing practices and views on research data. The background is the ongoing movement towards open science within the research society. Madeleine Dutoit presents her case study that investigated how an interdisciplinary research group collectively viewed the research data concept and interpreted the data policy they were bound by. Today, researchers’ increasingly meet data policies in their profession and must respond to external pressures on data sharing. Knowledge of how data policies shape how researchers take on data sharing is highly relevant for all partners involved in the knowledge infrastructure that surrounds data management, research support staff such as librarians, policy makers, and funders.
