Visit from Mankato, USA
The School of Business & IT at University of Borås has a bilateral co-operation with Minnesota State Univeristy Mankato (MNSU), since the 80´s. Unfortunately the co-operation faded out during the 90´s but now we have picked it up again. Since 2004, each year there has been a number of Swedish Business and IT students studying at MNSU as exchange students, and a lecturer in Marketing is now going to do a short-term teaching assignment at the MNSU this fall.
A delegation of five persons from Mankato had a one day study visit in Borås as part of their Scandinavian tour. The main purpose of their visit was to expand the cooperation to other disciplines and schools at the University of Borås. In addition to meet their old friends at School of Business & IT, they have also been visiting School of Engineering and the Swedish School of Textiles, met their counterparts in Scandinavian Studies, Law, Mechanical/Civil Engineering, Art, and even got an opportunity to practice their Swedish. Continuous discussions of the potential cooperation areas are going on after the visit.
MNSU has more than 14,500 students and approximately 1800 faculty and staff, located in City of Mankato, offering more than 150 undergraduate programs and more than 100 graduate programs.
