What does it mean to be a senior member in the IEEE?

 -The main benefit for an individual is basically the recognition among my peers Senior members are also eligible as officials of IEEE.

What does IEEE do?

-IEEE is the largest professional association dealing with technology and engineering, in addition to promote dissemination of knowledge through their conferences, journals and magazines, IEEE also works in standardization, as well as is very active in education organizing seminars, intensive and summer schools. They are also especially supporting both women in engineering and young professionals.

When did you join the IEEE?

-IEEE is divided in 37l societies and the one that I belong to is the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society - EMBS. I joined it when I started my PhD in 2003. I am currently the chairman of IEEE-EMBS Swedish chapter.

-Yes, I have got the title associate professor in biomedical engineering with specialisation on biomedical instrumentation at the KTH recently.
