New administrative procedure for discrimination and violations

The new administrative procedure, which has been established by the Vice-Chancellor, describes the regulations that apply and how cases of this nature are handled in administrative terms. The new procedure also incorporates three former procedures.

Åsa Dryselius, the university’s legal officer, explains why:

“The purpose of the new administrative procedure is to ensure uniform and legally secure handling of cases. It is clearer about the responsibilities that the different parties have, and is mainly aimed at persons handling these kind of cases, not least the university’s directors. Directors have a responsibility to act and report in the event of discrimination or violations of employees, while all employees have a responsibility to act and report if they are made aware of possible discrimination of students.”

The old administrative procedures that have been superseded are:

  • Procedures in the event of offensive treatment of students and applicants at the University of Borås (ref 355-09)
  • Procedures in the event of discrimination, sexual harassment and other harassment of employees at the University of Borås (ref 608-14)
  • Guidelines in the event of offensive treatment of employees at the University of Borås  (ref 515-16)
