The origin of the sanitary towel comes from the problem of period poverty: the reality that women and girls everywhere do not have access to adequate protection or sanitation during menstruation. But the towel is also an innovation intended to reduce the use of disposable products.

Researchers Lena Berglin and Karin Högberg return to Kenya on 6 April for follow-up on the user test conducted by 30 women in different living environments in Kenya.

In the film, they tell more about the sanitary towel, how it works, and how far they have come with their research.
