A new committee to support the interests of doctoral students
2019-02-26
The purpose of the doctoral student committee is so that doctoral students at the university can meet and discuss issues related to their situation at the university, such as the work environment, differences between the Faculties, as well as rights and obligations. The committee is also a place for doctoral students to discuss issues that are addressed within the university's various committees and councils.
"The committee gives the doctoral students a collective voice. Each individual doctoral student is important and should have his or her voice heard. The committee also makes it possible for doctoral students from different disciplines to come together to share their experiences with each other," says Amir Mahboubi Soufiani, who is a doctoral student in Resource Recovery.
"We hope that the committee will promote better communication, more transparency and opportunities for the doctoral students to get to know and collaborate with each other," says Ellen Högberg, Chairperson of the Student Union in Borås.
The committee consists of around ten doctoral students who will meet twice a term.
