She received the "Global Swede" diploma

The motivation states that ‘she proved to be a great talent both as an individual researcher and in a group. Prior to studying, she initiated and ran an internationally award-winning composting plant in Rwanda. Her work in sustainable development and her excellent social skills make her a good representative for Sweden. She is intellectually curious and passionate about sustainable technical solutions.‘

What does the award "Global Swede" mean for you? 

“The diploma is a privilege that I will never take for granted, it is a recognition of me as a serious and hard-working student and that my activities and studies in sustainable development have not gone unnoticed. I think this is a key to several opportunities linked to innovation and sustainable development and an opportunity to strengthen my entrepreneurial skills. It also gives me the opportunity to strengthen the bridge between my home country and Sweden.“

What do you want to do in the future? 

“I have plans to continue research related to sustainable technical solutions, and environmental research projects.” 

About Global Swede

Global Swede is part of the Swedish Government's and the Swedish Institute's work to build long-term relations with international students in Sweden. The purpose is to create bridges of cross-border and multicultural networks, which will contribute to Swedish trade and promote the work of making future solutions. The diploma ceremony for Global Swede was organized on 21 May by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Institute. This year, about 20 students from different Swedish universities received a diploma.
