“Anyone who has a three-year engineering degree is welcome to apply! Resource Recovery and the circular economy are the future and we need many new experts with a Master's degree in the field. At the University of Borås, you will have the opportunity to become a global community builder as an engineer, researcher, or in leadership,” says Anita Pettersson, Programme Coordinator at the University of Borås.

Education in Resource Recovery is noteworthy in several aspects. In addition to in-depth knowledge in the chosen field, students who study in these Master's programmes also gain international competence and a close connection to the university's research groups in Resource Recovery and textiles. They also receive an education that addresses the needs that are relevant in the business world.

“Our research environment is very international and we have doctoral students from all over the world,” says Peter Therning, Head of the Department of Resource Recovery and Building Technology.

“Another aspect that is important to us is that the doctoral students we recruit for the university often come from our own Master's programmes. But it is also important for the whole of Sweden's research, as many who do not get a doctoral position here are recruited by other universities both nationally and internationally,” says Anita Pettersson.

Previously, the University of Borås has offered a Master’s in Resource Recovery. But from the autumn of 2021, it is now possible to choose between three Master's programmes with different specialisations: Master's Programme in Resource Recovery - Biotechnology and Bioeconomy.
